TVLINE | What is Tess’ reaction when she realizes that Clark Luthor is once again among us? Her reaction to Clark Luthor is always one of skepticism, but also one of attraction in that it’s someone who’s superpowerful. It’s a different persona of the same person that she knows, and they also share such a history but in an alternate world, so she’s intrigued that he knows her but she doesn’t really know him. It’s an unfair relationship.

Smallville: Tess Mercer's Big Choice

Cassidy Freeman talks about the final episodes, the Luthor family, Michael Rosenbaum's return and more.

IGN TV: What's it like knowing that the show is, pretty much, in the past for you and you're completely done filming it? Cassidy Freeman: It feels very satisfying. I enjoyed the experience so much and I also think that it was time for the show to end, so I accept that and you move on. It's one of those beautiful things, you know? It's almost like a funeral where you're not really that sad. You're just so happy that you're celebrating what you had… That's a sad way to think about. [Laughs] "It's a funeral!" But you're celebrating the ten year life of something.

The alt-world Clark is back on Smallville tonight (8/7c on The CW) and you know what that means: More Luthor madness for everyone's favorite reformed bad girl, Tess. Here, in one of her final Smallville interviews, the fabulous Cassidy Freeman fills us in on what to expect when trouble from another universe comes to visit... and how she reacted to reading the script for the show's finale.
TV Guide Magazine: So how does it feel to be done filming forever?Cassidy Freeman: It feels weird. [Laughs] It feels exciting that we had such a great finale, but also strange to know that I won't be going back up to Vancouver in three months.
TV Guide Magazine: We get some cool stuff from you in this "Kent" episode, huh?Freeman: Oh yeah. Clark Luthor and Tess know each other's cards. Which is interesting because almost no one on this show knows everyone else's cards. So it's very manipulative, their relationship. What muddies that is the relationship between Otherworld Tess and Clark Luthor, one that maybe this world's Tess doesn't necessarily want, but it does feel good to be wanted in that way. So I think she is very confused. [Laughs].

Cassidy Freeman (SMALLVILLE, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION) is Cady Longmire. She looks like Robert’s daughter, huh? She gave an incredible audition, and unless I’m mistaken had dyed her hair red for it. She’s smart, sassy and with an underlying vulnerability that’s trademark Longmire. The scene between her and Walt talking about Martha’s ashes just about broke my heart. I had to laugh as my Philadelphia lawyer, stepdaughter, Jessica (the prototype for Cady), as she watched Cassidy’s audition with a kind of funny look on her face. Welcome to my world.

Battlestar Galactica alumna Katee Sackhoff has been cast as the female lead opposite Robert Taylor in A&E's hourlong pilot Longmire. Also cast in the project, based on the Walt Longmire Mystery series of novels by Craig Johnson, are Lou Diamond Phillips, Bailey Chase and Cassidy Freeman.
